why is that odd? for the same reason that it would be odd to go to a record store to purchase woodworking equipment.

no, that isn't happening, just like it's highly unlikely that someone will find a relationship on this site that is not designed with that purpose in mind. someone may, however, find huge disappointment in seeking out a relationship here. that's almost certainly a guarantee.

Lol, Impy. I've heard that many had partners here but then broke up. I advise you, don't online date. It could mess things up. Just sayin. Don't judge.
I guess I don't understand why people feel the need to downplay this site as a possibility for finding a lasting relationship. The person above me who stated that, many people had relationships on here but then broke up, is just interesting to me. Ok, so tons of people have relationships in real life too, and guess what, a lot of those end up breaking off, too. About 50 percent, in fact. Does that mean then, that all of us whom are single, need to simply stay single because there's a 50/50 chance of it not working? As for not dating online, I've known of two people who have dated through online dating sites. One found someone to love and they now are happily married. The other, found someone and they are now unhappily married. In my opinion, there's just as much a chance of finding a crazy person online, as in real life. I've met several fabulous people through this site, whom I would not have met otherwise. I am not dating any of them, but I've made some very good friends through here. Personally, if I were looking for someone, I'd rather post an add here, than go to a bar hoping to find someone.

Agreed re: offline dating. No matter how you date, it can go good or bad either way. I married someone who I met offline, we ended up divorced 13 months later.
Ok guys. So, just popping in to say that yes, I met my partner on here, yes, it's working out, no, not for just a few days, weeks or months but for several years now, and no, I never came here looking for a relationship... hmmm. that last one might be the reason for the difference between some relationships that work and others that dont...
My point is:
You're single? Fantastic. Looking for the one? Good for ya. You're so obvious about it though; so not good for ya. lol.
You may find "the one," either on here or somewhere else, but the chance you have by putting an ad like this up, is decreased by a lot. lol. Ironic, I know. Just don't seem so desperate.
And remember, anything can happen.
Oh. One other bit of advice: planning to be with someone for the long run? Get to be friends first.

Well, it depends on the person or couple if they can last a relationship for a lifetime. It depends really. But it is a good start to make friends and see what happen afterwards.
I am looking for some one to have fun and hang out. If some thing develops then let nature take its course
